                                                                                                Biographies:

Jake Kimmel: (Vocalist/Harmonica Player)

Jake is a singer and harp man for the band. He is a consummate performer who possesses a unique voice and harp style used with a force and energy seldom seen in the local blues scene. His larger than life personality puts him at ease with an audience and engages the patrons.  A seasoned musician, Jake has shared the stage with people like Big Dave Mclean, Ken Hamm and Morgan Davis and has been a member of the local bands, Memphis Bound, Mexican Bus Ride, Preston McCool and Root Seller.

 Neal Fennell: (Guitar/Vocals)

Neal started playing guitar when he was 11 with nylon strings and folk songs but by 15 had progressed to rock on an electric guitar and his first band. A few years later he had found the blues and a musical home. He studied jazz for a couple of years in college while playing around Vancouver Island in a blues/rock band before hanging up his guitar for a while to raise a family. Neal finally picked up his guitar again 15 years ago and hasn’t looked back. Recent highlights include playing the Nanaimo Blues Festival and Victoria’s Blues Bash in the Inner Harbour as a member of Blackfish.

 Mike Carrow:  (Bass Guitar)

Mike is an original Victorian who has been involved  in funk and blues projects for the past 30 years.    Since  joining Blackfish in 2017, he has performed in a number of different venues on Vancouver Island.   A personal highlight for him was  performing in the 2018 Nanaimo Blues Festival.
